Finding a hardwood floor installer can be a difficult process, especially if you are lucky enough to be living on one of the Southern Gulf Islands. Hardwood installation, along with the sand and finish process, can take a fair bit of time. Knights Floor Surfacing recognizes this, and we have worked with homeowners in the past to limit costs related to travel and accommodation. Wood floor installation will require an initial estimate / quote, where we will discuss all aspects of what is involved. If the project requires a wood order, we will help source whatever wood species you desire. With many homes being close to water, an engineered hardwood installation can be a good decision if humidity is an issue. Pre-finished hardwood installs take the same amount of time, but the biggest difference with a solid wood product is the material needs to acclimate. If you wish to choose a raw, sight-finished hardwood install, you will need to allow for acclimation time as well as time for the install, sand and finish.
